PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: A Blog Writer I will be responsible for supporting the production and quality of blog posts published on behalf of our clients. The Blog Writer I will be responsible for researching and writing engaging, current events-based posts; editing posts written by content vendors or freelance writers; and completing queue-based tasks associated with blog production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Production: • Write and edit content that adheres to best practices in tagging, keyword usage, headline creation and basic search optimization • Conduct copyedit to ensure blog posts are error-free and conform to style guide and quality standards • Track legal news and develop and maintain a working understanding of legal practice areas • Complete queue-based content and administrative tasks Quality: • Produce content that is free of typographical, spelling or grammatical errors • Provide feedback to vendors to improve overall quality of blog posts Minimum Qualifications & Experience: • Bachelors degree required (English, Communications or Journalism preferred)
• 0-1 years of professional editing and/or writing (preferably for online media)
Skills & Knowledge: • Knowledge of legal terminology preferred • Familiarity with AP style preferred • Strong written and oral communication skills • Proven editing ability • Attention to detail • Ability to write and edit in a high volume production environment • Ability to work independently • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills • Works well in a team environment • Embraces change and is highly adaptable • Strong online research skills
